oh happy day.....

i found another great blog: Oh Happy Day. these are just a few of the little inspirations i found while perusing the site. as soon as i saw this baby playing in his starkly decorated room, i fell in love. not with the kid, but with the ideology of a child's room that's is uncluttered and unbiased. this room isn't bombarding his brain with gender role affirming colors, nor is it selling the child on a future paved with the virtues of a franchised childhood, a branded shrine to materialism and plastic. admittedly, i am extremely nostalgic.....i have nothing but fond memories of winnie the pooh, rainbow brite and he-man and she-ra. but sometimes i wonder what i gave up for those hours of tv and toy worship. a richer imagination? a less cluttered life? an entirely different way of thinking? ah, but i digress......
don't you love the bookbinding picture? i'm always amazed at the many transformations of paper.
and the colors and textures amy chin uses in prop styling are tantalizing.
